Large Fluorite (2016 find - fluorescent)

A sculptural and impressive large fluorite plate from a small 2016 find at a very obscure locality in Zhejiang Province, China. The striking specimen is composed of gorgeous, gemmy rich emerald-green fluorite octahedrons to 3.5 cm, on edge. This plate has only scattered secondary overgrowths of clusters of tiny purplish-gray, frosted, stepped-growth fluorite cuboctahedrons and cubes. This dramatic piece has less secondary fluorite, than most we have acquired. This is a striking, colorful, impressive, rich and sculptural large fluorite from the find. The octos remind me of outstanding emerald-green fluorites from Riemasvaak, South Africa. The emerald-green hue is even richer on this amazing piece. They octos GLOW, when backlit. Moderate purple fluorescence. Outstanding quality and pristine. The piece has several fine display views. Fairly valued at $1000-1500.
