Item Description

An impressive large fluorite specimen from the Ruyuan mine. A 6.5 cm, translucent, rich mint-green cuboctahedron with satin luster subtle stepped-growth faces is aesthetically set on the end of the sculptural nubby milky quartz matrix. The milky quartz "sail" adds pizzazz and the fluorite has a nice glow, when back lit. The fluorite is complete all-around and pristine. A section of another crystal is attached to the back and is out-of-sigt in the fine frontal display view. Purple fluorescence. These fluorites came out in modest numbers for only a short time in the 2000s, and have essentially disappeared form the market. It is quite hard now to find nice-looking, undamaged crystals, on or off matrix, and the Chinese dealers value them highly and charge plenty for them. A choice large combination example.
