Item Description

A large sharp glassy grayish-pink compound grossular garnet dodecahedron from this well-known Coahuila, Mexico locale. Sierra de Cruces was formerly known as Lake Jaco. Complete all-around and pristine, the brownish-black core at the basal attachment adds interest. This is old-time, seldom available material from the 1950s finds by California dealer George Burnham. Classic and excellent Mexican grossular. 136 grams mass. Ex Dr. Barratt Phillips Collection.
