Item Description

A rare, desirable, large old-time richly colored kunzite from the famous Pala District. The beautiful lilac, gem, doubly terminated, lustrous, well-striated crystal with waxy lustre has distinctively different terminations, adding character. The cleaved face highlights the glass-clear clarity of this exceptional crystal. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 2741 and acquired from the Shale's in the early-mid 1960s. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien-Welt" November-December 2017). We believe this rare outstanding older kunzite is from the 1950s collecting efforts at the close-by Vanderberg or Anita mines in Pala. Most likely from the Vanderberg mine. 78 grams mass. Fairly valued at $2500 for rarity, size and quality. MUCH BETTER IN PERSON!
