Item Description

This is an unusually equant and stout , well formed Spinel crystal for the size from the Pein-pyit area of Burma that exhibits great crystal form. It's very unusual given it's sharp edges and well developed faces given the small amount of etching the crystal has experienced. The Spinel is mostly a translucent pinkish purple with some faces having opaque, ivory colored patches. All of the faces display some degree of pitting from etching during its growth history that adds considerable interest to the piece. Some of the pinkish-purple areas on this robust crystal have small gem areas. An intriguing crystal with abundant textural diversity that displays bright pink-red fluorescence in long wave UV. 96.95 GRAMS.
