Item Description

An extremely rich and sculptural large old-time pyromorphite specimen from this famed Bad Ems lead mine, closed in 1913. This impressive, 3-dimensional, vuggy piece is festooned with two generations of juicy, translucent brown prisms. Larger, slightly darker crystals are composed of striking sharp bundles of hexagonal prisms. These reach about 2.3 cm and cover over one-half of the piece. The smaller, lighter crystals on one end are juicier and have more rounded look. The "natural bridge" of crystals in this area is a super accent. This classic, very rich and excellent large piece displays well from both directions. Choice material from an East Coast collection. Valued at $2500-3500 for size, richness and quality. The contrast of the crystal styles adds much pizzazz and the piece displays very well without aid with the big crystals on top.
