large Scapolite w/ Titanite

VERY RARE and impressive large scapolite crystal from the well-known Bear Lake diggings of the famous Bancroft Area of Ontario. The sharply formed, lustrous, striated, mottled brown, 360-degree tetragonal crystal is doubly terminated. Titanite crystals and crystal sections are embedded on the sides, a fine and classic accessory. The well-formed, lustrous, titanite prism on one side with a bit of bruising is 2.5 cm across. Complete all-around and in great shape. The noted bit of contacting has negligible impact to the overall outstanding quality of this rarity. MINDAT lists scapolite for the Bear Lake diggings, but there are NO examples in the Photo Gallery.
