Large Tincalconite ps. after Borax (Bob Reynolds Coll.)

Striking large starburst of creamy tincalconite pseudomorphs of sharp, tabular borax prisms from the renowned Kramer Borate deposit at Boron. Scattered clusters of glassy Colemanite (another Borate) are fine accessories. Complete all-around and essentially pristine, this is a shockingly large and beautiful (for what it is) specimen of this significant rarity. Specimens of this quality came out in the 1960s or 1970s. Ex Bob Reynolds Collection, a well-known fossil and mineral expert and Curator of the San Bernardino County Museum. He passed away in 2020. Pseudomorphs of this size and quality are seldom available and this is a superb example. RARE and excellent large borate mineral from Boron that is simply unseen on the general market these days. Bob Reynolds was one of the last collections around in California, retainign a great suite of these fantastic rarities.
