Item Description

A spectacular and important 360-degree bi-colored tourmaline and quartz combination from Stak Nala, source of Pakistan's finest tourmalines. Seven classic tourmalines are dramatically embedded or enclosed in a stout transparent to translucent terminated quartz crystal with satin lustre faces. Four of the seven tourmalines are doubly terminated, including the two largest crystals at or near the top at 6.0 and 5.5 cm. The trigonal striated crystals have the classic Stak Nala color scheme - beautiful gemmy, glassy pink pyramidal terminations, a narrow green zone followed by the very dark green to black schorl mid-section. A narrow yellow-green section is above the gemmy teal-blue base with the matte frosted pinacoidal terminations. Scattered clusters of pearlescent cleavelandite blades are a typical and fine accessory. Complete all-around and nearly pristine. The one repaired tourmaline is at the top and the repair is hard-to-see or is out-of-sight in the two striking primary display views. This is certainly acceptable in the context of pegmatite species. Stak Nala tourmaline and quartz combinations of this remarkable size, richness and quality are RARE, indeed. Valued at $3500-4000 and worth it.
