Large Tourmaline Cluster ex Meieran Collection

1385 grams, or 3 pounds in weight, of solid, amazing, multicolored tourmaline make this an immediately impactful and stunning specimen. This is from a special pocket found about a decade or more ago, probably circa 2010, and has a very unusual style to it. The crystal is a single compound giant that at first glance looks like it flares outward like a tree, a bit. However, it actually is a straight columnar crystal and the eye sees the small side crystals at an angle and extrapolates that to make the central stalk look like it bends out a little at the top. The termination is gorgeous, complete, and remarkably without repairs or restorations. The termination is lustrous, not dull, and actually is like a window to look inside and see zones and gradients of pink and pastel colors within. This is not a strong pink color, but it is not weak either, and it is beautiful. Highlights of pastel green tinge some edges on the sides and the top. A specimen of this size, without repair or restorations for damage, is remarkable. This particular style is extremely rare, atypical, and unique to Paprok. I have not seen another like it in a long time, and the last example I saw sold at a show a decade ago, purportedly for the $60k sticker price. We are only showing this with moderate lighting. It is entirely possible to light it from beneath, making it a torch of glowing color with a richer pink hue, but I also like the pleasing pastels of the natural light. This is an important crystal, long in the collection of Gene Meieran (who has/had one of the world's largest gem crystal species collections). It should be easily valued in the $50-75,000 range.
