Item Description

Beautiful light lavender, translucent bubbly chalcedony botryoids with waxy lustre line a sculptural large vug in chalcedony matrix on this outstanding specimen from an unknown Arizona locale. The striking large botryoid is 3.3 cm. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 1910 and acquired in the early 1960s. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017). Undoubtedly older material, but no proof. Exceptional chalcedony from Arizona.
