Item Description

There are so many colors, styles and varieites on Quartz in the world, but unlike nearly everything you see on the market, this limited material never got a fancy nickname or tradename, so we simply refer to it as Lavender Quartz. It's not quite what I would call purple based upon the softness of the hue, so it's not Amethyst, but it's just as eye-catching as any Quartz you'll see out there. It should be noted that the color is presumably due to manganese. This fine miniature is a great quality specimen of this select material from the N'Chwaning II Mine. This piece features beautiful notably large botryoidal Quartz spheres intergrown with a bit of white Calcite to form a three-dimensional display piece. The Quartz spheres are translucent when backlit and show a lovely sparkling luster on the surface. As I said, the individual "balls" on the piece are large for the material measuring up to 1.3 cm across. No damage on the display side of the piece, but it is contacted on the back / base where it was removed from the pocket wall. If you collect Quartz, South African minerals, or if you love unusual display specimens, don't miss out on this one, as very few are available on the market these days.
