Item Description

A 2.2-cm spray of canary-yellow legrandite makes this piece a fairly attractive, displayable example of the species, for most purposes unaffordable in "major specimens" these days. Legrandite came from here in this quality, in the 1960s-1970s, and is now one of those Holy Grails for collectors to get. Few pieces with crystals beyond 1 cm are out there to be had, to begin with. Although embedded in the matrix, this IS a rather lage crystal, approaching an inch in size! Interestingly, small accent crystals of tiny needle-like legrandites accent the piece, in its protected pocket. It is contrasted nicely with the brown gossan matrix. valued $2000-2250, this is one of the few affordable legrandites of any stature that I think I will come across.
