Item Description

This is a very rare legrandite specimen from the TYPE LOCALITY for the species: which is NOT Ojuela as most people think, but a smaller and earlier find in Nuevo Leon, within a completely different location and geology! This specimen is attractive in that the legrandite is contrasted against bubbly aggregates of translucent, amber and brown, smithsonite rhombs (this association is a dead giveaway of its true origin, aside from the unique crystal form and notably radiating habit of the legrandite clusters themselves). Overall, it is a fairly rich and showy piece, with a bit of noted brusing. For the location, its very good and rare combination piece. These can only get rarer with time, even more so than the comparably more plentiful Ojuela Mine material. Ex Consie Prince Collection.
