Item Description

This superb rarity specimen features an artistically formed, elongate cluster of micaceous crystals of pale violet Leiteite on a touch of matrix containing abundant, fine grained Leiteite. Leiteite is an ultra rare zinc arsenate and one of the Holy Grail rare species for the famous and now-closed Tsumeb Mine, which is the type locality for this and over SIX DOZEN other species! This showy, highly lustrous, pearlescent toenail features an elongate, foliated mass characteristic to this rare species. Highly representative and desirable for the species and locality, this is from the germanium level finds of the 1980s. Generally not available on the market today, and specimens like this usually sell for $1500-2500
