Item Description

Leucite is a rare potassium aluminum silicate mineral, and it seldom occurs in gem quality crystals that are suitable for faceting. Keep in mind that most Leucites you'll see on the market are translucent at best, so it's quite rare to find material suitable for cutting fine gems. Italy has produced a fair amount of Leucite over the years, but transparent pieces that are large enough to cut stones are still hard to find. This is one of the VERY few faceted gems that we have offered in the auctions from Italy. The stone is nearly colorless (a very pale yellow color), and is very very slightly included with a "Round" cut. If you're a rare stone collector, do not miss out on this gem, as it is the only one we have to offer right now.
