Item Description
Lustrous, sharp, jet-black libethenite crystals, to 6 mm, are nicely mounded on this showy and rich thumbnail from the 1975 find at this large underground and open pit Cu-Co mine. The 1975 find produced the world's finest examples of this uncommon Cu-phosphate, with several different crystal habits found. The crystals are pseudo-octahedrons on this piece. The crystals in the raised middle are pristine, with the lower periphery wear revealing green accents. See the 1978 Mineralogical Record article in Vol. 9, No. 6. Ex Lemke collection. An excellent example of the crystal habit and style, valued $250.
