Item Description

An extremely hard to find specimen of Libethenite from Estremoz, Portugal (possibly from the Mostardeira Mine) featuring many razor sharp, highly lustrous, rich green colored orthorhombic crystals of this beloved copper phosphate on matrix. Upon the close inspection, you can see the quality of the individual crystals is superb. I love the fact that many of the Libethenites are isolated as well, and not a tightly intergrown lump. I have only seen one other specimen of Libethenite from Estremoz, so don't miss out on this one. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#11204). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
