Item Description

A large example of the tourmaline variety liddicoatite from a find in 2006, of generally smaller crystals. Analysed in the labs of Dr. Federico Pezzotta by Dr. Emanuele Marini (from whom I purchased this several years ago), this is a true liddicoatite. It has a beautiful, unusual red color to it. The crystal is highly lustrous, and is doubly-terminated as well! It is complete and pristine save only a small, very small, shallow contact on the back side of the lower termination. Such a crystal is uncommon for Madagascar, and for this locality, in good size. Valued $1750
