Lilac Kunzite (excellent) ex Obodda

A beautiful and unusually blocky gem kunzite crystal from recent finds at Mawi, Afghanistan. Most of the crystal is water-clear with very high luster. One prism face is glass-smooth, with a great view in to the interior and the other four are well-striated. One chisel termination face is very lightly frosted, while the other is strikingly etched and frosted, with a canyon. The crystal has gorgeous lilac color, especially on the C-axis. A striking, blocky, sharply terminated and very colorful crystal. Complete all-around and nearly pristine, with only a bit of contacting by the feldspar. Excellent quality for the size. 61 grams.
