Item Description

RARE, rich and old pseudomorphs of limonite after sharp magnetite crystals from the area of well-known Andalusia copper-iron mines. The sharp, lustrous dodecahedrons reach 1.1 cm and are richly clustered on the gossan matrix. Comes with a faded and foxed older label. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 2321 and acquired from Scott Williams in the early 1960s. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record). A RARE and desirable Spanish pseudomorph.
