Item Description

This is the only specimen we've ever had to offer from this locality that lies about 10 miles southeast of Asheboro, North Carolina. A group of well-formed, modified cubic crystals of Pyrite measuring up to 2.5 cm, have been completely pseudomorphed to Limonite. The piece is nearly a complete "floater", as there are only a few tiny points of attachment, and no real damage. I love the balance and aesthetics of the piece, with wonderful presentation featuring the main crystal sitting prominently at the top central portion of the specimen. A cool piece for any fan of minerals from the southern United States, a pseudomorph collector or a collector of rare localities.
