Item Description
An impressive and important large linarite specimen from New Mexico's famous Blanchard Mine. Wonderful, scintillating, "electric-blue" linarite microcrystals richly and dramatically cover the sculptural large matrix plate. Linarite is a well-known Pb-Cu-sulfate and the mine has produced some of the finest examples of the species known. It is a signature species, along with fluorite from the mine. The quartz-rich matrix also hosts fluorite, baryte and corroded galena crystals. The well-placed intergrown fluorite cubes at the top are both 1.0 cm. A large and choice example of the species and locale. Few specimens of this SIZE AND RICHNESS together, are found...were, we should say. This is 20 years or more out of the ground.
