Item Description

Linarite is a sought after and well-known lead copper sulfate, and the pieces from this locality are incredibly hard to find on the market. This miniature specimen hosts a rich coverage of beautiful, lustrous, intense royal-blue crystals of Linarite associated with minor green Caledonite on oxidized matrix. You never see pieces like this with so many Linarites on one piece like this. The largest Linarite measures 3 mm. From the collection of Robert (Bob) Reynolds (#RR0158) who passed in August of 2020. Bob was a well-known fossil and mineral expert and former Curator of Earth Sciences at the San Bernardino County Museum in California. The rare phyllomanganate-chromate species Reynoldsite was named in his honor in 2011.
