Item Description

A good, representative specimen of this rare iron phosphate consisting of sharp, deep green crystals. These sprays of Ludlamite cross a Pyrite matrix like a mountain range, and the luster on the crystals is good. The largest Ludlamite crystal is about 1 cm in length. There are only about 5 localities in the world that produce fine crystallized Ludlamite specimens, and all of them, except for Huanuni, are now defunct. Even then, Ludlamite production at Huanuni has been diminishing. Several crystals have been removed from this piece, likely during mining. Unfortunate, but it does happen sometimes. Still, a good, representative piece.
