Magnesite, DT Quartz & Uvite Garnet (Robertson Coll.)

Item Description

A very aesthetic and sculptural small cabinet combination from famed Brumado. A 2.8 cm, water-clear, doubly terminated quartz crystal is dramatically perched atop the mounded cluster of intergrown, glassy, sharp, magnesite rhombs, to 1.6 cm on edge. The quartz and magnesite are smartly and colorfully accented with a single, splendent, 1.3 cm hematite disk and by translucent, orange-red unvite crystals on both sides. A classic and showy combination from the Kay Robertson Collection # 12171 and acquired from well-known Brazilian dealer Carlos Barbosa at the Denver Show in 1990. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien-Welt" November-December 2017).
