Item Description

Sharp magnesite crystal specimens from this former open-cast Au-Ag-Pb-Hg mine are RARE. The mine is well-known for fine stibnite specimens. Lustrous, translucent, tabular, tan crystals, to 2.2 cm, with nifty rounded edges are aesthetically clustered atop the matrix wedge. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 12957. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017). An outstanding and rare example of the species and locale.
