Item Description

Mineral specimens of ANY species are VERY RARE from this old Disentis area talc deposit worked from 1916-20 (MINDAT). The serpentinite matrix is aesthetically covered with intergrown glassy, translucent, flattened magnesite rhombs, to 1.7 cm, with striking striated faces. The rhombs are nicely accented by a single, 1.7 cm, glassy, terminated quartz point. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 1724 and acquired from the Scott Williams private collection in July, 1960 in Long Beach. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien-Welt" November-December 2017). VERY RARE and excellent old-time combination material from here.
