Item Description

Sharp, rust-brown to battleship-gray, moderately lustrous, magnetite octahedrons form a very sculptural CABINET plate from an uncommon locale in Chile. The octos are to 2.0 cm. El Laco is a highly unusual lava flow consisting primarily of magnetite! Essentially pristine, with only a bit of pheriphery wear. An excellent and uncommon specimen from the Schlichter Collection. Very rich iron ore!
