Item Description

Makatite is a rare hydrated Na-silicate, with the Type Locality being an obscure locality in Kenya. It is a fairly common species from the exotic phonolite quarries at Aries. A 1.3 cm radial spray of snow-white needles is jauntily set in the sculptural thumbnail matrix wedge. An excellent highly representative example of the rare species and locale.
