Item Description

The Shilu Mine is the source of some really gorgoues specimens of Malachite, which in many ways are similar and just as impressive as their counterparts from the Katanga Copper Crescent in D. R. Congo. This piece is a really eye-catching large thumbnail featuring semi-radial groups of velvety Malachite which have a rich forest green hue on the front side and a brighter minty green hue on the reverse side. The underside of the specimen shows a gorgeous chatoyant luster and looks fantastic when it's rotated in the light. The piece is essentially crystallized all the way around, and is nearly a "floater" as I can only see one tiny point of attachment.
