Item Description

Large dramatically sculptural, colorful and very interesting parallel-growth combination stalactites from the famous Mashamba West Mine. Scintillating rich forest-green malachite coats the nubby, knobby stalactites. The broken termination and bruised areas reveal an underlying layer of contrasting variable blue-green chrysocolla. The interior of the stalactites is composed of charcoal-gray heterogenite, a rare Co-oxide uncomon from this mine or an unknown gossan oxide. Irregardless, this is a striking, impressive, lightweight and highly unusual large two-sided cluster of malachite stalactites from this well-known locale. The base has been sawed and the piece displays well from both sides without aid. Value??
