Velvet malachite with a nice shimmer has pseudomorphed an aesthetic miniature plate of intergrown lozenge-shaped azurite crystals from recent finds at this now famous mine. The large central pseudo is 1.8 cm. Current mining is in sulfide ore bodies. The copper oxide ore bodies have been mined out and there have been very limited finds of secondary copper oxide species recently from faults and water courses that extend down into the sulfide ore bodies. Get a good one of this variety while you can.
