Item Description

Shimmering chatoyant malachite has partially pseudomorphed an aethetic cluster on tabular matte lustre midnight-blue azurite crystals with some sharp chisel edges from renowned Tsumeb. This fine 360-degree small cabinet is dominated by the large centrally-placed 3.8 cm crystal (doubly terminated). All four of the major crystals are pristine. Ex Bob Reynolds Collection, a well-known fossil and mineral expert and Curator of the San Bernardino County Museum. He passed away in 2020. Comes with a South West Africa label, dating the piece to prior to 1990, when it was renamed Namibia and there is an old cloth label on the bottom. This piece could be quite old and is undoubtedly from the Upper Oxided Zone. A classic, showy and excellent old Tsumeb azurite pseudomorph. Valued $1000-1500
