Bright green malachite has pseudomorphed a sharp cluster of intergrown cuprite crystals on this old-time, excellent, thumbnail from the famous mines at Chessy. An essentially pristine classic with a bit of embedded clay. The crystals have rare dodecahedral form. The ancient Chessy mines were closed by the end of the 19th century and this is a very fine example of a classic form and species. Ex Herb Obodda dealer stock. Similar have sold widely in recent years for $200-400.
