Item Description

Tsumeb is famous for a large variety of excellent pseudomorphs and this is a very rich, impressive and uncommon small cabinet plate. Rich green malachite has replaced a very rich and sculptural hefty plate of densely intergrown sharp tetrahedral tennantite crystals to 2.7 cm. Ex Shields Flynn Collection and illustrated on Page 42 of his 2018 self-published book, Minerals of Namibia - From the Collection of Shields and Frances Flynn. The interior is pristine on this outstanding pseudo. Such pseudomorphs are known from Tsumeb, but are seldom available in this quality and richness. Valued by the former dealer at $750. It is worth more today.
