Chatoyant velvet malachite has pseudomorphed a cute 360-degree "ball" of parallel-growth azurite blades on this very aesthetic miniature from Milpillas. The "wing" and upright placement of the ball on the porphyry add much pizzazz to this fine piece. Milpillas has become a contemporary classic locality for azurite and malachite and this is a very classy example.
