Item Description

A very attractive and high quality display specimen of Malachite pseudomorphs after Azurite from a discovery in 2012 at the Milpillas Mine. Although there were a good number of these specimens available a few years ago, fine quality, undamaged display specimens are few and far between today, especially since the oxidized zone at Milpillas has been completely mined through, so we'll never see these pieces again. This piece features a rich coverage of fine quality, large, impressive, lustrous, velvety, dark forest-green crystals of Malachite that have altered from the original Azurite sitting on matrix. The largest pseudomorph measures 2.7 cm long. The slight contrasting reddish oxidized area on the base of the specimen makes for a great touch of additional color. Very little damage, and great quality for the find. Priced at $4,800 in the inventory.
