Item Description

Tsumeb is by most people's account, the greatest mineral locality in history. The broad number of mineral species, which ranges from very common to extremely rare combined with the exquisite quality and unique associations makes it one of the most beloved places in the world for those who love minerals. Here we have a classic example of the famous pseudomorphs of Malachite replacing Azurite. The center of the specimen features a group of sharp, well-formed, crystals of what were once Azurite, that have been replaced by mint to forest green colored Malachite surrounded by a "nest" of additional Malachite all the way around. Very minor roughness, but overall it's a great example of these wonderful pseudomorphs from this prolific locality.
