Malachite with Shattuckite ''casts'' after Calcite (RARE for the locality)

A unique specimen in my experience seeing hundreds if not thousands of pieces from the Kaokoveld. This miniature features a "fan"-like spray comprising lustrous, rich emerald green "needles" of Malachite which play host to soft robins egg blue Shattuckite, but if you look closely, you can see there are hollow "casts" where the Shattuckite has replaced trigonal crystals of Calcite, leaving indentations that actually penetrating into the Malachite. I can't remember seeing another piece quite like this from this area, and I love it for its beautiful color, form and the interesting paragenesis. If you collect minerals of Namibia, secondary copper specimens or you like "casts" (sometimes called epimorphs or perimorphs), don't miss out on this beautiful specimen from this well-known contemporary specimen-producing region.
