Item Description
An excellent, OLD-TIME cluster of highly lustrous, striated, jet-black manganite prisms superbly perched on massive manganite matrix. This is NOT just a "black rock" by any means. It displays very dramatically and impressively. The crystals reach 2.7 cm. These old pieces came out in about 1886-1888 (per Bancroft''s book). This fine piece is impressive from both sides, even with the backside having a bit more periphery damage. Superb crystals, good size, and high luster make this an excellent and affordable miniature, valued about $750-900.
