A striking and rich miniature specimen from the famous Mina Ojuela. Purple (manganoan) adamite is one of the three Holy Grail species from Mina Ojuela, along with legrandite and scorodite. The scultpural vug is festoooned with glassy, purple adamite crystals to 3 mm on a sturdy, gossan matrix. This piece is from the one-time find in 1981 and is highly representative and rich for the size for this very desirable manganoan-adamite species (erroneously once thought to be cobaltoan). Ex Consie Prince Collection. The crystals may be small, but they are colorful and there are so many of them.
