ATTENTION CALCITE COLLECTORS! A glorious and dramatic large compound manganoan calcite scalenohedron is aesthetically attached to a bed of earlier generation smaller colorless scalenohedrons. The striking 11.0 x 9.3 x 7.4 cm glassy, lustrous and translucent crystal has beautiful lavender color. The sculptural quality of the piece, with the little "tail", adds real pizzazz. The contact on the back, where another crystal once lay, has no damage, per se. This outstanding and pristine large crystal is from the well-known Fenjiashan Mine, noted for world-class manganoan calcite specimens. Bright neon-orange fluorescence! The photos say it all! Specimens of this quality are usually reserved for the Gallery, but we wanted to let our auction customers have an opportunity to obtain an outstanding calcite at a reasonable price point.
