Item Description

A striking, large pine tree-shaped specimen of sharp, lustrous, metallic, bronzy, spearpoint-shaped marcasite crystals from this less well-known Moroccan mining district. The crystals reach about 1.2 cm and many have serrated edges. The piece is dramatically accented by the sharp 1.4 cm glassy tabular barite crystal and by the sparkly drusy quartz on the back, especially the fantastic loop around the barite crystal! Such combinations of this size and quality are RARE from here and this is an exceptional example. Ex Dr. Barratt Phillips Collection.
