Item Description

Moss Agate is a variety of Chalcedony, and the Red Moss Agate found in the Maury Mountains of Oregon is one of the less common kinds in the United States. This material is well known for its autumnal colors (i.e., red, orange, brown, yellow), and does not have the typical green "moss-like" inclusions that collectors are used to seeing in Moss Agate stones. The complex mixture of rich colors in this "Oval Cabochon" cut gem do not come through in the photos as they do in person, and this stone is pretty attractive when you hold it in your hands.
