Meionite (old classic)

Item Description

Excellent, classic, sharp, gemmy, white/colorless prismatic tetragonal crystals of Meionite (Scapolite) measuring up to 5 mm sitting on matrix. This is old time material, and certainly hard to find on the market now. The piece comes to us from an old East Coast collection, with a label from noted New York dealer, Hugh A. Ford. Since the label has Ford's New York address it dates to 1946-1957, so we know the piece is at least 60 years old. There is also an old label from J. N. Trainer of Brewster, New York as well.
