Item Description

A seldom seen specimen of Meionite (Scapolite) from this obscure locality in Finland. The piece features a few fairly sharp, well-formed, tetragonal crystals with a dark blue-black hue. Most of the main crystals are undamaged, with the largest measuring 3.1 cm long. The piece was hard to photograph, and honestly looks better in person. A very hard to find specimen that would make a great addition to any European collection. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#6008). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
