A jumbled cluster of stubby green Augite crystals is host to a few Meionite crystals on this cabinet piece from Mexico. The La Panchita prospect is a small occurrence known for its Meionite, Augite and large Zircon crystals and this is a very good example for a locality with very difficult access. A plethora of two-toned, light green and dark green, relatively lustrous, stocky Augite crystals range in size from 0.5 to 4 cm in length and serve as the matrix for several, 0.7 to 2.5 cm long, ivory colored, prismatic Meionite crystals that display a silky luster. Meionite is a tectosilicate belonging to the scapolite group.
