Item Description

This small extinct underground borate prospect has produced probably the finest meyerhofferite pseudomorphs after inyoite crystals (rare borates) in the world and is the Type Locality for both species. Sharp, tinted tabular monoclinic prisms, to 3.7 cm, are dramatically and complexly intergrown on matrix on this sculptural specimen. This is a large and important old-time example of the species and locale. Ex Paterson Museum Collection, where it was formerly on display.
