Item Description

A classic specimen from the Valenciana Mine in Mexico. This specimen hosts tabular, compressed, hexagonal, greenish-yellow colored crystals of Milarite associated with sharp, blocky, lustrous, sharp, cream-colored crystals of Adularia (var: Valencianite). Obviously the Adularia from this mine was distinctive enough that it earned a honor of being named after the locality. The Milarite crystals measure up to 8 mm across. This material not often seen on the market for sale, and good specimens from the Valenciana mine are prized in this size and quality. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#9817). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
